Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident that they will receive multiple offers for midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in the summer.
With the playmaker having spent a near 18-month loan stint at Villarreal, it seemed likely that he would not be reintegrated back into the Spurs squad.
However, the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as head coach, plus no suitable bids being received, led to the Argentina international spending 2023-24 in North London.
Although the 28-year-old has been a regular in the squad, just four starts and 13 substitute appearances have been made in the Premier League.
Lo Celso has also not played longer than 58 minutes in a single match since the turn of the year, emphasising that he is no longer viewed as an important player.
Lo Celso expected to leave Spurs
As a result of Lo Celso having just over a year remaining on his contract, Spurs are naturally willing to listen to any proposals for his signature.
According to Football Insider, Spurs are optimistic that somewhat of a bidding war will materialise during the summer market.
Correspondent Pete O'Rourke has claimed that an array of clubs across Europe are deliberating over whether to make an approach.
Furthermore, it is added that Lo Celso is eager to secure a transfer away from the North Londoners before the start of the next campaign.
Which clubs could target Lo Celso?
Taking everything into consideration, a return to La Liga seems the most likely option for Lo Celso, it expected that he will not be short of admirers.
Through separate spells with Real Betis and Villarreal, Lo Celso has 12 goals and nine assists from his 70 appearances in Spain's top flight.
Outside of Real Madrid and Barcelona, any other club in the top 10, as well as Sevilla, may view Lo Celso as an option, particularly when they know that he will be available for a reduced fee.
Other teams from mainland Europe could also get involved, Lo Celso having had experience of playing in France, while a move to another Premier League side cannot be ruled out at this stage.
Wherever Lo Celso goes, regular football will be a priority. Since August 2019, almost half of his 110 league appearances have come from the substitutes' bench, with 57 starts coming during that period. body check tags ::
