Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly step up their pursuit for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin this summer by offering Andros Townsend or Benjamin Stambouli as part of the deal.
The Frenchman, who is a reported long-term target for both Arsenal and Spurs, has recently admitted that he wants to leave the Saints at the end of the season in order to fulfil his dream of playing in the Champions League.
Southampton are said to be holding out for a fee of £20m for their star player, but the London Evening Standard claims that Spurs will offer one of their fringe players in order to lower the asking price.
England international Townsend has started 10 league games for the North London outfit this term, while Stambouli has failed to hold down a regular spot since joining from Montpellier last year.
