Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is reportedly considering making a bid for Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson.
The 28-year-old had been expected to join Queens Park Rangers after the two clubs agreed a £9m fee for his transfer.
However, Dawson is believed to have rejected the chance to move to Loftus Road.
According to The Mirror, O'Neill is keen to add Dawson to his defensive ranks before Friday's transfer deadline and Dawson is happy to listen to an offer from the Black Cats.
Sunderland have already spent £22m this week by bringing Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson to the Stadium of Light.
