Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of signing Argentina international Giovani Lo Celso after agreeing a £55m deal with Real Betis.
Spurs have been strongly linked with a swoop for the attacker throughout the summer, although it had been claimed earlier this week that the London club were struggling to agree a fee with Betis.
Mauricio Pochettino's side have since been linked with moves for Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala ahead of Thursday's deadline.
According to The Guardian, though, Tottenham are no longer in the race for either Coutinho or Dybala and have now agreed a £55m deal for Lo Celso.
The report claims that although the 23-year-old is yet to agree personal terms with the Premier League club, the transfer is expected to go through before the window closes for business.
Lo Celso, who represented Argentina at the 2019 Copa America, only completed a permanent move to Betis in April, having been on loan to the Spanish club from Paris Saint-Germain.
