Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly completed the signing of 16-year-old defensive starlet Calum Logan from Ipswich Town.

The 2006-born defender was a regular fixture in the Tractor Boys' team during their run to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals this season, starting in wins over Huddersfield Town, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.

Logan also made the first XI for February's quarter-final clash with West Ham United, but he was sent off in the 34th minute as Ipswich fell to a 4-2 defeat after extra time.

Nevertheless, the centre-back's exploits caught the eye of Tottenham, and football.london now reports that Spurs have struck a deal to bring him to North London.

A separate report from TWTD states that Tottenham most likely paid a six-figure fee to prise Logan away from Portman Road, and Ipswich will be in line for further sums in the coming years.

The England Under-17 international - who has earned two caps for his country at youth level - reportedly put pen to paper on his contract on Friday ahead of linking up with the club's academy.

Logan, who can also operate as a left-back, was understood to have been on the radar of Tottenham last summer, but he decided to continue his development with Ipswich for another year. body check tags ::
