Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has secured his return to Hamburg in a £10.9m transfer.
The Netherlands international travelled to Germany today for talks while his former employers negotiated a fee with Spurs.
The Bundesliga outfit had been chasing the playmaker all summer and finally matched Tottenham's valuation of the 29-year-old earlier today.
He has since agreed personal terms and passed a medical at the club at which he played between 2005 and 2008.
Van der Vaart scored 28 times in 77 appearances in a two-year spell at White Hart Lane after joining from Real Madrid.
