Belgium centre-back Jan Vertonghen is expecting Tottenham Hotspur to extend his contract until the summer of 2020.
Vertonghen's current deal with Spurs will expire at the end of this season, but the club do have the option of a one-year extension.
There has been speculation surrounding the 31-year-old's future in recent days, but Vertonghen has insisted that there should be no panic.
"My contract is expiring at the end of the season, but Tottenham have an option to extend it with one year," Vertonghen told reporters. "I think they will take up the option. We'll see what happens."
Vertonghen, who helped Belgium reach the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, is closing in on 250 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions.
