Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Jan Vertonghen has signed a new deal with the club running until 2019.
The 29-year-old centre-back becomes the latest in a line of top stars to commit their long-term future to White Hart Lane in recent months, following on from the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Eric Dier.
"I am very happy, once I put my autograph on the paper I was extremely happy, a great relief," Vertonghen said of his new deal. "I'm very happy to be here - the future looks great so I'm very happy to be part of it.
"This is an unbelievable group of talent and and group of guys, I feel privileged to be part of that. We've created a great atmosphere in the team and there's a great buzz around Tottenham."
Vertonghen moved to North London in 2012 and has gone on to make 131 league appearances in a Spurs shirt, including every game so far this season.
Spurs will now turn their attentions to tying down captain Hugo Lloris to a new deal.
