Sunderland will reportedly complete the signing of Younes Kaboul this evening after the Tottenham Hotspur defender passed a medical.
The 29-year-old made just 15 appearances for Spurs in all competitions last season, despite being named as club captain by incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino.
According to Sky Sports News, a £3m deal is now close to being finalised, which will see the Frenchman's five-year stint at White Hart Lane come to an end.
Kaboul, who has also previously been linked with a move to Everton, rejoined Tottenham in 2010 following a spell at Portsmouth.
