After both teams progressed in the Scottish Cup at the weekend, Aberdeen and St Mirren shall be hoping to take that form into the SPL when they face each other on Tuesday.
The hosts are undefeated so far in 2022, while the Dons will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the league following their 1-1 draw during their most recent outing.
Match preview
St Mirren were in firm control on Saturday when they knocked Ayr out of the Scottish Cup 2-0, with goals coming from Kyle McAllister and Greg Kiltie.
This was their second victory in a row after the Buddies defeated Dundee United in their most recent SPL fixture, and the squad will now be pushing on to keep that run going.
Jim Goodwin's team currently sit ninth in the table, and there are only six points separating them and the relegation zone, which is something they shall want to address.
A victory could see them climb as high as seventh, just one place below their opponents in midweek, providing plenty of incentive to the squad.
The Buddies were able to take three points when they last faced Aberdeen in what was a five-goal thriller, with the squad coming from behind to win 3-2 due to a goal from Curtis Main.
That previous result is something that the Dons will be hoping to put behind them this time around when they face St Mirren again, which they will believe is possible.
The squad could move themselves up to fourth place with a victory, depending on other results, which is something that they will be hoping to achieve.
Stephen Glass witnessed his team gain a point against the league leaders during the most recent outing in the SPL, with Lewis Ferguson scoring the equaliser for the match to finish 1-1.
The Dons then followed that up with a 3-0 victory in the Scottish Cup against Edinburgh City, with Ferguson again getting himself on the scoresheet.
With a string of positive results behind them, the club will now be hoping to kick on and continue to climb up the league table if possible.

Team News
Cameron MacPherson has recently been recalled by St Mirren, and while St Johnstone are working hard to try bring him back on a full-time deal, he could be an option in midweek for the Buddies.
Main will likely return to the squad after being rested for the Scottish Cup game, while Kiltie shall probably retain his place in the attacking midfield role.
Ross McCrorie had to be substituted for Aberdeen in their recent match due to a slight injury, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will be fit enough to start again.
Meanwhile, Ferguson will be hoping to continue his form in front of goal, and he will likely sit just behind Christian Ramirez, who should lead the line alone.
St Mirren possible starting lineup:
Alnwick; Fraser, Shaughnessy, Dunne, Tanser; Ronan, Erhahon; McAllister, Kiltie, Henderson; Main
Aberdeen possible starting lineup:
Lewis; Ramsay, Gallagher, Bates, Hayes; Hedges, Jenks, Brown, Ojo; Ferguson; Ramirez
We say: St Mirren 1-2 Aberdeen
Both teams head into this game with plenty of confidence at the moment, which is something that they will each be wanting to continue at the moment.
However, Aberdeen have been the stronger of the two throughout this campaign, and their overall quality should be enough to see them through.
