Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has claimed that talks over Marko Arnautovic's new contract remain "ongoing".
Recently, it was reported that the 26-year-old turned down the Potters' contract offer, but Hughes has insisted that it is a normal process.
When asked for an update on the Austrian's situation, Hughes told reporters: "There are negotiations to be done. We are hoping that they will be done quickly and that will be a benefit to Marko too.
"It can help him to have the security of a new contract but he's in a good place at the moment. This isn't affecting him adversely in my opinion."
Arnautovic, who is Stoke's top scorer with seven goals, has 18 months left to run on his current deal.
