Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has refused to rule out new signings in the January transfer window.
Chairman Peter Coates recently indicated that it would be unlikely for players to be brought in before Tuesday's deadline.
Despite his chairman's stance, Pulis has claimed that he would be interested in new additions if they were "the right bit of business".
"Never believe chairmen! We'll see," he said.
"We are very open to going either way. If there is an opportunity and we think it is a good one, that will never cease at this football club.
"I think there is always that little bit of room to do some business, but it has to be the right bit of business."
The Potters travel to Derby County in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
