Stoke City boss Gary Rowett has reportedly identified Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood as an ideal replacement for Jack Butland.
The Potters are bracing themselves for a late offer to come in for England international Butland, who has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Having already lost Lee Grant to Manchester United, the Sheffield Star suggests that Stoke are now looking at Westwood from Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
According to the same report, the Owls may be willing to do business as they have Cameron Dawson and Joe Wildsmith in reserve, both of whom featured in the second tier last season.
Wednesday are said to be keen to reduce their wage bill before the window closes for permanent transfers on August 9, and Westwood - now into the final year of his contract - is one of those that could be cut loose.
