Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan is a transfer target for Sunderland, Swansea City and Crystal Palace, according to reports.
Whelan is out of contract in the summer at the Britannia Stadium and talks over a new deal have reportedly stalled, prompting other sides to register their interest in a player the Potters signed for around £500,000 in 2008.
The Sunderland Echo claims that signing a midfielder is not high on Sunderland's agenda, with a goal scorer topping their wish list, but both Palace and Swansea are said to be keen to strengthen in the middle of the pitch.
Stoke are linked with a winter move for Tottenham Hotspur's central midfielder Mousa Dembele, which has put Whelan's future in even more doubt.
Whelan had started 35 of 47 games for Stoke, but a leg injury has interrupted his current campaign.
