Groningen striker Mimoun Mahi has reportedly emerged as a January transfer target for Stoke City.
The Potters currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League standings and although goals have not necessarily been hard to come by, the club are still keen to boost their options.
According to The Sun, manager Mark Hughes is ready to trigger the £2m release clause for Mahi, who has netted 28 goals in 83 appearances with the Dutch club.
The 23-year-old has five goals from nine appearances in the top flight this season, and Hughes feels that the Moroccan international would offer value for money.
Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City are all said to be monitoring Mahi but as it stands, it appears that Stoke are in pole position ahead of the next transfer window.
