Sunderland have delayed contract negotiations with Fraizer Campbell.
Manager Martin O'Neill will hold talks with the 24-year-old in the summer with a view to extending his contract with the club.
Campbell's time at Sunderland has been marred by cruciate ligament injuries, but the forward returned to the side earlier this year.
Sunderland are in FA Cup action this Saturday against Everton.
