Adam Johnson has told his Sunderland teammates to forget their recent winless run as they look to stay in the Premier League.
Seven games without a victory have seen the Black Cats slip to within four points of the relegation zone.
"You have to come in and move forward rather than dwelling on any disappointment you might just have had," Johnson told The Sun.
"When things aren't going well, people get down - the team, the fans, everything - it's part of the game.
"A couple of good wins, though, and it changes very quickly and everyone's happy again."
Sunderland return to league action on March 30 when they host leaders Manchester United at the Stadium of Light.
