The agent of Al Ain forward Ignacio Scocco has said that the player is poised to shun interest from Sunderland this summer.
Scocco, who scored twice against Brazil on his senior international debut for Argentina in November, has spent the majority of the past two years on loan at Newell's Old Boys, scoring 27 goals in 36 games.
The Premier League Black Cats are believed to be plotting a move for the 28-year-old, but it appears that he is likely to extend his stay with Newell's instead.
"Sunderland are interested in Scocco, but they know Nacho's claims," said Scocco's agent Fabian Soldini.
"Nacho thinks that if he has to leave Newell's, where he is happy, he is going to do so to play in the Champions League.
"If there is not anything that is interesting, Ignacio will stay until the end of the year at the [Argentinian] club."
Scocco has previously spent loan spells in Mexico and Greece with UNAM Pumas and AEK Athens.
