Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback has suggested that his future at the Stadium of Light could be in doubt by claiming that he has postponed talks over fresh terms.
The 24-year-old is said to have rejected the Black Cats' first contract offer, which is believed to have carried similar terms to the deal he signed last year.
"In any contract talks, a change of management will stall things because the new manager needs to see who he wants," The Chronicle quotes Colback as saying. "And, with the position we are in in the league, it's not really at the forefront of anyone's mind.
"I have been approached [to restart talks] but I said I would just be patient and see how it went, but I'm hoping to get something sorted."
Colback, who came through the ranks at Sunderland, comes to the end of his current contract in the summer.
