Sunderland have reportedly tracked Lille defender Adama Soumaoro ahead of a potential summer move to Wearside.
Manager Sam Allardyce bolstered his defensive options during the recent winter window by signing Lamine Kone and Jan Kirchhoff.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the Sunderland boss is keen to make further additions to his rearguard at the end of the season.
The report adds that Allardyce has been particularly attracted by Soumaoro's ability to play anywhere across the backline.
Soumaoro is contracted at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy until 2019.
