Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has revealed that the club could sign new players in January.
Despite spending £22m on Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson in the summer, the Black Cats are currently in 16th place in the Premier League table after just two wins from their opening 13 matches.
"It is the one opportunity during the course of the season that you get and it would be inappropriate for us not to have a look at that," O'Neill told reporters.
"We will try to strengthen if we can do."
