Gus Poyet has revealed that there is a chance that Ki Sung-Yueng could sign a permanent deal with Sunderland.
The midfielder is on loan from Swansea City, but on Saturday manager Michael Laudrup denied that the Swans were planning on calling him back.
"There is a chance (of a full transfer). Swansea had an opportunity to call him back, and they didn't," boss Poyet told Sky Sports News.
"I think there are a couple of things we need to make sure: where we are and where we want to go, and with the player as well.
"I can see that he's enjoying his football and making a difference. He's been the most consistent player for me, in my way of playing."
Ki scored and set up one in Sunderland's 4-1 win against Fulham in the Premier League.
