Sunderland have reportedly offered a new one-year deal to defender Wes Brown.
The 35-year-old comes to the end of his current contract on June 30 and there were reports that the former Manchester United centre-back would be released by the Black Cats.
However, according to The Chronicle, the North-East outfit have offered Brown, who moved to the Stadium of Light in 2011, a fresh 12-month deal.
The decision to keep the defender has been made despite Brown making just two appearances during Dick Advocaat's time in charge towards the end of last season.
