Sunderland have reportedly had a bid in the region of £5m rejected by Roma for midfielder Michael Bradley.
The Black Cats have been looking to bolster their midfield ranks after missing out on Tom Huddlestone, who moved to Hull City.
Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio was hopeful of securing the American international's signature but his side's bid of £5m has been knocked by the Serie A team, who want at least £10m for the 26-year-old, reports the Daily Mail.
