Sunderland have completed the signing of Inter Milan winger Ricky Alvarez on a season-long loan deal.
The Argentine international becomes the club's ninth signing of the summer and their second of deadline day following the loan deal for Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates.
The 26-year-old has made 90 appearances for Inter Milan, scoring 14 goals, and he was quick to express his excitement at playing in England.
"I'm very happy to be here. It's a great opportunity, a great club and I'm looking forward to playing in England and playing my part for Sunderland," Alvarez told the club's official website.
Alvarez has featured seven times for his country, including during this summer's World Cup as he helped Argentina to the final in Brazil.
Alvarez joins Coates, Jack Rodwell, Jordi Gomez, Billy Jones, Costel Pantilimon, Santiago Vergini, Patrick van Aanholt and Will Buckley as new recruits at the Stadium of Light.
