Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell has reportedly been given permission to spend time on trial at Vitesse.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Sunderland were prepared to hand a free transfer to Rodwell in a bid to get his £70,000-per-week wages off their expenses.
Rodwell has insisted that he possesses the quality to earn a recall to the England squad but according to Sky Sports News, the 26-year-old is contemplating a move to the Eredivisie.
During the current campaign, Rodwell has only made three first-team appearance for the Black Cats, the last of which came in an EFL Cup tie at former club Everton in September.
Vitesse currently sit in seventh place in the league standings and could potentially offer Rodwell an opportunity to gain regular first-team football.
