Glenn Hoddle has ruled himself out of the running to become the long-term replacement for Michael Laudrup at Swansea City.
Garry Monk has taken over at the Liberty Stadium but it is unclear whether he will be trusted to steer the club forward beyond the end of the current season.
Former England manager Hoddle was linked with the job this week but has insisted that it is not the right time for him to return to football.
"Swansea are a smashing football team and they play some beautiful football but, no, that contact hasn't been there," Hoddle told talkSPORT. "It is just a lot of speculation.
"It's flattering to be connected with the job. It's got to be right for me at this moment and, at this moment in time, I don't think it is."
Hoddle's most recent managerial role, at Wolverhampton Wanderers, came to an end in 2006.
