Swansea City manager Garry Monk has confirmed that Michu will not be a part of his plans next season.
The Spanish attacker made a bright start to life at the Liberty Stadium, but having struggled for form and fitness during the 2013-14 campaign, he was loaned out to Napoli in Serie A last term.
He made just five appearances for the Naples-based outfit, who consequently opted against securing his services on a permanent basis.
Michu still has 12 months left to run on his contract with the Swans, but Monk has conceded that his squad have "moved on" in the 29-year-old's absence.
"He won't be with the squad this year. I spoke to him at this point last season, he wanted to go and felt that was right for him and I was happy to support him in that decision," he told the South Wales Evening Post.
"I now think we have kind of moved on as a squad. We had a big transition last year."
A recent report suggested that Michu had asked Swansea to cancel the remainder of his deal with them.
