Swansea City have decided to leave Gylfi Sigurdsson out of their squad ahead of the club's friendly clash with Birmingham City because of uncertainty about the midfielder's future.
The Icelandic playmaker has been the subject of two rejected bids from Everton this summer, leading to the 27-year-old also being omitted from the Swans' recent tour to the United States.
The midfielder has since returned to first-team training but will now miss Swansea's friendly fixture against the Blues, reigniting speculation surrounding where Sigurdsson will be playing his football come the start of the new season.
Sigurdsson was arguably Swansea's key performer last term, notching nine Premier League goals and 12 assists in 36 games for Paul Clement's side.
City begin their new Premier League campaign when they face Southampton on August 12.
