Swansea City have insisted that Jefferson Montero will not be allowed to leave the club on loan.
Recent speculation had claimed that the Ecuadorian winger was a target of Championship promotion contenders Middlesbrough.
However, despite having been used sparingly since head coach Francesco Guidolin arrived at the Liberty Stadium last month, Montero is still regarded to be a key player at the Liberty Stadium.
"There are no plans for Jefferson Montero to go anywhere on loan. As things stand, he will stay at Swansea for the rest of the season," the South Wales Evening Post quotes a Swansea spokesman as saying.
Montero, 26, joined the Swans from Morelia for an undisclosed fee in 2014.
