Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has refused to comment on speculation linking Newcastle winger Gabriel Obertan with a move to the club.

Laudrup yesterday confirmed that he is looking to bring in a number of new signings before the end of the transfer window, but refused to mention any names when questioned further on the matter.

"I can only say this; speculation about players coming in, I don't want to comment on that," said the former Denmark international.

"It is better for me to say I don't comment on rumours, I can comment on things about our players as it is different.

"When something is near or is done then you can ask me all you want."

Swansea's opening game of the upcoming Premier League season will be away to Queens Park Rangers on August 18.
