Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has insisted that he has no intention of trying to negotiate a permanent deal for midfielder Jonathan de Guzman before the end of the season.
De Guzman is currently on loan from Spanish side Villarreal, but despite acknowledging that he would like to keep the Dutch international, he has admitted that nothing will be decided in the near future.
The 48-year-old told reporters: "I think generally from now it is very difficult to do anything before the end of the season, not just with Jonathan but for all clubs.
"Villarreal are fifth in the second division so they don't know what league they will be in and they don't know what they will do with Jonathan.
"I know what he wants but it is Villarreal who decides what will happen. If they want him back, we can't do anything."
The 25-year-old has scored five goals in 29 Premier League appearances for Swansea this season.
