Swansea City manager Garry Monk remains "confident" that Bafetimbi Gomis will remain at the club this January, despite the player recently hinting that he could be on his way.
The 29-year-old striker has mainly been restricted to appearances from the bench since making a move from Lyon in the summer, although the departure of Wilfried Bony last week has now opened up a gap.
However, Gomis claimed during an interview with French TV that "it is possible" he will head for the Liberty Stadium exit this month.
These views are not shared by Monk, who told reporters: "I'm confident Bafe will stay here. I've seen his comments and I've spoken to Bafe but it's nothing new, it's the way it is in football now.
"He has been frustrated at the start of the season but I don't see an unhappy player. He's on the training ground with a smile on his face.
"He is very professional, gets on with his job and works hard. He's a pleasure to be with around the group as well and a pleasure to work with every single day."
Gomis has started five Premier League games for the Welsh outfit this season, most recently the 5-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea last time out.
