Swindon Town striker Nile Ranger has been arrested by police on suspicion of common assault and criminal damage.
Recent reports have alleged that Ranger was caught on CCTV assaulting a woman and damaging a block of flats in Swindon, with the striker being reported to police by a national newspaper and the building's management company.
Wiltshire Police say that the footage shows the 23-year-old "punching a female" and "kicking and smashing a door and lift", causing damage in the region of £2,000.
Ranger is understood to have handed himself in to police before being arrested, while he will be questioned later.
The former Newcastle United striker also faces a disciplinary hearing with Swindon on Thursday following a meeting between the club's chairman and manager.
