Ryan Giggs has claimed that Team GB's future depends on how successful the London 2012 side are.
The captain of Stuart Pearce's side also admitted that the pressure is on after the disappointing 1-1 draw with Senegal.
"This has been a whole new and different experience for me right from the start," said Giggs, who is appearing for the first time in tournament football.
"The Olympics is huge and I don't think you realise how big it is until you are actually involved. I do think if we do well and go a fair way and the interest gets bigger and bigger, then it is something that could be here for the future.
"I have said that because of the experience I have had. But ask any of the other players. Each of us would do it again in an instant."
Giggs is expected to start in the game against the United Arab Emirates on Sunday at Wembley.
