The Nigerian starts alongside Ramires in central midfield for the hosts, while Cesar Azpilicueta is once again preferred to Ashley Cole at left-back.
Kevin Nolan has returned from suspension to take his place in the West Ham side and is likely to provide support for Andy Carroll, who starts on his own up front.
New signings Marco Borriello and Antonio Nocerino are both named on the bench for the visitors.
