Torquay United have moved above Lincoln City and into 12th place in the Conference Premier table after recording a 1-0 win at Plainmoor.
With both teams having little to play for, the game started off at a tentative pace with chances few and far between, but the home side finally created an opening when John Campbell fired over from a Toby Ajala cross.
Lincoln hit straight back through Ben Tomlinson, but the striker's shot went wide of the target after Kegan Everington had seen an effort blocked by a defender.
Torquay returned for the second half on the front foot, and after a spell of sustained pressure, James McQuilkin had a long-range strike saved by the goalkeeper before Campbell sent the rebound over.
As the game entered the final quarter, Louis Briscoe came within a whisker of finding the bottom corner with a low drive, before up the other end, Lincoln's Hamza Bencherif missed the target with an overhead kick.
However, with 10 minutes to go, Torquay went ahead through Ashley Yeoman, who got on the end of a through-ball before firing his shot under the goalkeeper and into the net for his second goal of the season.
