Lille have edged out Toulouse away from home in Ligue 1, despite going down to nine men when they were 2-0 up in the clash.
It was an edgy game full of fouls in the opening 10 minutes, with the first real effort on goal being Salomon Kalou's poked effort from close range that flew well over.
With the away side still on top, they took the lead after 26 minutes through Nolan Roux, who finished low having been found by his strike partner Kalou.
Toulouse came right back at their visitors and probably should have levelled 10 minutes later, but Eden Ben Basat put his header wide when well placed.
Just before the break Franck Beria was brought down by Etienne Didot in the box, with Kalou stepping up to put the third-placed side 2-0 ahead.
Beria then picked up his second yellow card on 68 minutes, with Pape Souare following him off the field just a minute later. Despite this and a late goal from Serge Aurier, the away side held on for the three points.
