Adrien Regattin's unstoppable free kick earned Toulouse a slender 1-0 victory over Evian TG at the Stadium Municipal in Ligue 1 this evening.
The game's first chance did not arrive until after 14 minutes, when Evian's Aldo Angoula headed over the bar from close range after meeting a Fabien Camus cross.
Abel Aguilar appeared most creative as Toulouse looked to respond and he played in Wissam Ben Yedder, but the striker lashed across the face of goal and wide.
Daniel Wass might have put Evian in front just before the break when he turned and shot inside the box, only to see his attempt land straight in the palms of goalkeeper Zacharie Boucher.
In a second half of very few chances, the deciding contribution to the game came from Regattin, who lined up a free kick and curled his effort into the top corner.
Any hopes Evian had of grabbing a late point were quashed when Angoula was shown a second yellow for a poor challenge on Ben Yedder.
