Tranmere Rovers midfielder Steven Jennings has signed a new 12-month contract at Prenton Park.

The 30-year-old returned to Rovers for a third spell last October, but he was unable to help keep the club in League Two.

However, despite their relegation to the Football Conference, Jennings has vowed to do all that he can to ensure that Rovers are promoted next term.

"I want to make right the wrongs of the last couple of seasons. I want to help Tranmere get back in the League and I want to give the fans something to cheer about because they deserve it for the support they've given us," he told the club's official website.

"Tranmere has been a massive part of my career and I'll do everything I can to help the club return to where it belongs."

Jennings has made a total of 288 appearances for Tranmere.
