Sports Mole rounds up all of the latest transfer news in La Liga on Monday, December 28.
Monday morning's La Liga transfer talk news roundup:
Barcelona move for Lyon's Memphis Depay breaks down?
Barcelona are supposedly considering ending their pursuit of Lyon attacker Memphis Depay.
The 26-year-old was tipped to make the switch to Camp Nou in the summer, but having failed to offload Ousmane Dembele on transfer deadline day, a move collapsed and Depay remained at Lyon.
The Netherlands international is yet to put pen to paper on an extension, though, and Depay is about to enter the final six months of his contract at the Groupama Stadium.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are more focused on signing a central defender given Gerard Pique's lengthy layoff, and Ronald Koeman now has more faith in Martin Braithwaite after the former Middlesbrough man found his shooting boots.
The report claims that Lyon could only recoup a €5m (4.5m) fee for Depay with his deal close to expiry, but Les Gones know that he is vital to their Ligue 1 title charge and want to keep hold of him for the remainder of the campaign - even if that means losing him for nothing in the summer.
Depay has banked eight goals and four assists for Lyon in the French top flight this term, with Rudi Garcia's men currently leading the way in Ligue 1 during the Christmas break.
Juventus 'want Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba for £50m in January'
Juventus are reportedly keen to re-sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United during the upcoming January transfer window.
Pogba's future has once again come under the spotlight following comments from his agent Mino Raiola insisting that his career at Old Trafford is "over".
However, Raiola has since admitted that a January move away is unlikely, while Pogba has seen his game time increase slightly since those comments.
Nonetheless, Eurosport reports that Juventus are keen to bring the World Cup winner back to Turin next month as they believe competition for his signature will be more fierce in the summer.
Real Madrid are still thought to be considering a move at the end of the season, and Juventus hope they can avoid a bidding war by stealing a march on Los Blancos next month.
However, Pogba's wages are a problem for Juventus given that he currently earns a similar sum to Cristiano Ronaldo, while the Italian champions are also unwilling to pay more than £50m for the midfielder.
A swap deal involving either Paulo Dybala or Federico Bernardeschi has been mooted to help Juve lower the amount of cash involved, and that would be the Serie A outfit's preferred choice if Man United are unwilling to settle for £50m.
Pogba spent four years at Juventus from 2012 to 2016, making 178 appearances and helping the club to four successive Serie A titles.
