Monday morning's La Liga transfer talk news roundup:

Neymar 'tells Paris Saint-Germain he wants to stay'

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is reportedly ready to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes after a summer return to Barcelona fell through.

The Brazil international was tipped to make a sensational switch back to Camp Nou throughout the summer, but owing to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the Catalan giants did not swoop for their former player.

Barca's troubles behind the scenes are well-documented at the moment, with La Blaugrana attempting to negotiate a pay cut with their stars as they look to decrease their wage bill by £170m amid the COVID-19 crisis.

As a result, Foot Mercato reports that Neymar has accepted that a return to Camp Nou is off the cards, and the 28-year-old is now hopeful of penning a new five-year deal with PSG, where he is currently under contract until 2022.

However, any new deal would reportedly see Neymar demand the same wage which he currently earns at the Ligue 1 champions, with the former Barca man set to pocket £32.4m a year in the French capital.

Neymar already has three goals and three assists to his name in all competitions this term and boasts a total of 72 goals in 89 games for PSG since his arrival.

Real Madrid 'not planning any January signings'

Real Madrid will not make any signings in the January transfer window owing to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report.

Clubs across the globe have been severely hit financially as the ongoing outbreak forces the postponement of matches and stadium closures, with many countries now trying to battle a second wave of the virus.

Most Real Madrid players previously agreed to a wage cut as the club looked to navigate through this difficult economic period, but the Spanish champions are still believed to be facing losses of up to £200m.

As a result, Marca claim that Real will put their transfer business on hold unless they are able to ship out a number of unwanted players in January.

The report claims that Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic are two players who could be sold in order for Los Blancos to free up some funds for new signings, with both forwards struggling to make their mark in the Spanish capital.

Zinedine Zidane's side sit atop the La Liga table after seven matches but have struggled in the Champions League with a defeat to Shakhtar Donestk and a draw at Borussia Monchengladbach over the past few weeks.
