Good morning everyone! The headlines may be focused on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, but don't worry, transfer news and speculation still rumbles on in the background. In fact, the weekend's action could have given managers a good idea of whether they need to strengthen their squads further. As normal, we will bring you all of the latest gossip as it comes to us.
An early line to bring you involves Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane. He was in action for Spurs on Saturday against Manchester United, but is there a chance that he could be playing for the Red Devils in the future? A few months ago, the England international was linked with a £40m switch to Old Trafford, and according to The Mirror, United are still keeping tabs on the striker ahead of a potential bid.
The future of Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has had question marks surrounding it in the last few months, however according to the player himself, he intends to stay at St James' Park. The 30-year-old, who scored in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Southampton, has told the Chronicle that he has no other team than he can "leave to".
Wales manager Chris Coleman, who works closely with Gareth Bale in the national side, has had his say on reports that the 26-year-old is wanted by Manchester United. Rumours that the £85m man could be on his way back to the Premier League rumbled last season when he had a disappointing campaign with Real Madrid. However, Coleman has insisted that Bale is in "no rush" to leave the Bernabeu.
UPDATE: Manchester United fans, you've been told by many media outlets that Pedro is likely to join the Louis van Gaal's team in the coming days. However, according to Sport, the transfer has been delayed because of Neymar's illness. The Brazilian has come down with mumps and is expected to be sidelined for the next two weeks. It looks as though United will have to continue playing the waiting game.
Into the Championship, where it appears that Middlesbrough could be on the verge of another big signing. According to a newspaper report, the Teesiders have had a bid accepted by Leicester City for their striker David Nugent. More here.
Queens Park Rangers head coach Chris Ramsey has been speaking out about the future of goalkeeper Robert Green. The England international has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road this summer, but the Hoops boss has insisted that he is going nowhere.
It had been suggested that Derby County were looking to poach highly-rated winger Michail Antonio from rivals Nottingham Forest for £5m. However, a recent report has stated that there is no truth in the rumours linking the winger with the iPro Stadium.
UPDATE: Stoke City's proposed move for Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri seems to be edging ever closer. According to Sky Sports News, the 23-year-old is currently undergoing a medical before finalising the transfer.

According to Sky Sports News, free agent Joey Barton, who was released by Queens Park Rangers in June, is having a medical at Upton Park this afternoon. Should the deal go through, the midfielder will be manager Slaven Bilic's seventh signing this summer.
