Sports Mole brings you all the latest transfer developments as they happen throughout the day.

Welcome to Sports Mole's live transfer blog on Wednesday, August 12.

Football clubs home and abroad have less then three weeks left to finalise their business.

More than £400m has been spent in the Premier League alone, but that figure is expected to rise come midnight on September 1.

Throughout the day, we will keep you up to date with all of the latest transfer developments.

Good morning all! In England, the football season is in full swing, but we still have a few weeks until the major foreign leagues catch up. Away from the pitch, clubs continue to work hard to bring in new faces to their squads. There is just under three weeks of the transfer window remaining, so, can we expect a splurge of activity in the coming days? Will the sport's heavyweights like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and co add more quality to their teams? Stick with us to find out.
Reports emerged a few days ago claiming that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is a top target for Manchester United. It has been rumoured that the Red Devils are prepared to pay £40m for the England international. However, according to The Guardian, no amount of money will persuade Spurs to part with their prized asset.
Sticking with Tottenham, and French publication L'Equipe have reported that the North London outfit have had a £10m bid accepted for Lyon striker Clinton N'Jie. The 21-year-old has netted seven goals and made seven assists in 20 Ligue 1 appearances. Would you be happy with his arrival, Spurs fans?
Chelsea have been quiet in the transfer window so far having only signed goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Stoke City. However, it looks as though things could get busier at Stamford Bridge as, according to Le Parisien, the Blues have approached Paris Saint-Germain regarding the possible purchase of right-back Gregory van der Wiel. It may be difficult for Chelsea to prise the player away though, as the French champions are believed to have rejected the move.
It had been reported that free agent Joey Barton was on the verge of joining West Ham United, which led to a backlash from the club's supporters on social media. Now, West Ham co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to confirm that the Hammers will not be signing the controversial midfielder.
West Bromwich Albion have been busy bringing strikers to The Hawthorns this summer, but now it appears that they are prepared to let two leave. Head coach Tony Pulis has hinted that Victor Anichebe and Brown Ideye will be allowed to find other clubs following the arrivals of Rickie Lambert and Solomon Rondon.
Virgil van Dijk has been heavily linked with a move away from Celtic this summer, with Southampton said to be chasing his signature. According to a newspaper report, the Saints have pushed on with a deal and are now close to signing the Dutchman for £9m.
Xherdan Shaqiri's move to Stoke City from Inter Milan dominated the headlines yesterday, with the Swizterland international becoming the Staffordshire club's record signing. However, former Bayern Munich midfielder Stefan Effenberg has questioned the switch, claiming that ex-Bayern man Shaqiri has only moved to the Britannia Stadium for financial reasons.
Middlesbrough have been heavily linked with Blackburn Rovers man Jordan Rhodes this summer, but it appears that a North-East rival could be about to trump them for his signature. According to a report, Sunderland have opened talks with Blackburn over a deal. More here.
Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman has said that he will make the final call on Henri Lansbury's future at the club. Burnley have been linked with the midfielder this summer and Freedman plans to talk with the player and Reds owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi before making a decision.
After Nathaniel Chalobah impressed on loan at Reading at the end of last season, Royals boss Steve Clarke is reportedly hopeful of agreeing a deal to bring the midfielder back to Madejski Stadium.
Some good news for MK Dons fans as it is announced that former Southampton midfielder Ben Reeves has signed a new two-year deal at the club.
He has been linked with a move away from Anfield after failing to secure a regular spot under Brendan Rodgers, but Jose Enrique wants to stay at Liverpool and prove people wrong.
News of a done deal at Preston North End, where former Liverpool and England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has signed a one-year deal after leaving Sheffield Wednesday.
Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu, who spent 2013-14 and 2014-15 out on loan at Valencia and Stuttgart respectively, is reportedly on the verge of ending his unsuccessful time at Stamford Bridge by sealing a permanent transfer to Southampton.
He's been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer and it now appears that Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi is close to a move to the Premier League, although his likely destination is yet to be confirmed.
Leeds United midfielder Sam Byram has reportedly reopened talks with the club over a new contract, despite reported interest from Newcastle United and Everton.
Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has reportedly been told that he can leave the club this summer, but things could turn ugly as it is also claimed that the Frenchman is looking to be compensated handsomely by the Gunners if he does move on.
After his move to West Ham United broke down Joey Barton could have to make do with life in the Championship, if SkyBet are to be believed. The bookmakers have the midfielder at 10/11 to join Derby County, with the Rams' rivals Nottingham Forest at 2/1.
Despite reports linking him with a move away from the Bernabeu, it is now reported that Alvaro Arbeloa will stay at Real Madrid under the management of his former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
Some non-league news now as it is announced that former West Bromwich Albion and Notts County striker Lee Hughes has signed for Northern Premier Division Ilkeston after the 39-year-old scored in back-to-back friendlies for the club.
DONE DEAL! Swansea City have signed their third goalkeeper this summer with the capture of Josh Vickers from Arsenal. The 19-year-old, who had been on trial with the Welsh side, follows Gerhard Tremmel and Kristoffer Nordfeldt through the arrivals door at the Liberty Stadium.

Could he be about to spring another surprise? Reports suggest that Sherwood is ready to beat a host of Premier League clubs to the signing of young Barcelona winger Adama Traore. Read the story here.
Pedro's proposed switch to Manchester United seems to be a case of will it or won't it, but one man who is confident that he will shine if a move materialises is Fernando Torres, who backs his compatriot to hit the ground running. More on this in here.
