Alberto Aquilani has claimed that he is close to joining AC Milan from Liverpool.
The 27-year-old Italian spent last season on loan at Juventus and has been linked with Fiorentina.
In early August, Milan admitted that they were interested
in bringing the former Roma man back to his homeland and Aquilani has claimed that a switch is moving ever closer.
"I am close to joining Milan," Aquilani told Gazzetta dello Sport.
There has been no indication as to whether the deal would be a permanent transfer or a loan, with the Reds keen for the funds to boost their own transfer plans.
