Werder Bremen defender Sebastian Boenisch has expressed his interest in joining Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart.
The 25-year-old Polish international featured only four times for Bremen last season and is out of contract this summer.
Boenisch, who has rejected an offer to remain at Weserstadion, admits that he has been in contact with Stuttgart over a possible move.
"It is true, I am in touch with this club," he told BILD. "VfB Stuttgart is a club that interests me, and the club will feature in a European club competition next season."
Stuttgart's director of sport Fredi Bobic added: "Sebastian Boenisch is on the list of players we are considering. I can confirm this."
It is understood that Stuttgart have offered the player a three-year contract and hope to have the deal confirmed later this week.
