Freddie Ljungberg's agent has claimed that the former Arsenal midfielder is interested in a move back to England.
The 34-year-old, who spent nine years with the Gunners, recently left Japanese side Shimizu S-Pulse.
"There was interest but they were not the right English clubs," Walid Bouzid told Al Jazeera. "French and Scandinavian clubs also showed interest.
"He wants to play in a club battling for league titles, but he also wants his final project to give him a chance to give something back to society.
"Freddie is a competitor. Freddie still has at least a year-and-a-half, if not two, that he wants to play."
Ljungberg also enjoyed a spell with West Ham United during his time in England.
