Striker Simba Sithole has admitted that he has been taken by surprise after Ajax Cape Town signed him following his performances during the African Nations Championship.
Sithole scored just once for Zimbabwe as his team reached the semi-finals, and he has been quick to praise national coach Ian Gorowa for helping him secure a high-profile move.
The 24-year-old told the club's official website: "I give credit to Gorowa. He gave me a chance to shine in the national team and look how I have moved to greener pastures.
"I am really looking forward to a fruitful stay at Ajax Cape Town and I will continue working hard.
"To be honest, I never saw this coming. It is rare for someone to get an opportunity like this because I never went for trials and they just snapped me up like that. I really thank God."
Sithole moves to Cape Town with his new side currently sitting in 10th position in the Premier Soccer League.
