Turkey captain Arda Turan has claimed that his mother was brought to tears by the boos that were directed towards him in Friday's 3-0 defeat to Spain at Euro 2016.
Sections of the Turkish support booed the Barcelona midfielder during last week's Group D clash, which left Turkey on the brink of elimination from the European Championships.
A 2-0 victory over Czech Republic on Tuesday has re-ignited Turkey's challenge, but Turan has insisted that he will not forget the actions of those in the crowd.
"I tried to not cry," he told Lig TV. "But they made my mother cry. But don't worry, I'll hold them to account."
Turkey can still progress to the round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams. Fatih Terim's side will learn their fate after the final round of group matches on Wednesday night.
