Long-serving Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale announces that this season will be his last with the club.

Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale has announced that this season will be his last with the Serie A club.

The 38-year-old claims that he will bring down the curtain on his career in Udine after breaking several club records in 12 years at the Stadio Friuli.

"I want to be good for the Carpi [match] to celebrate with the crowd and play my last match in Udine," Di Natale told reporters ahead of Saturday's visit of Torino.

Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo said in the same press conference that Di Natale is the "greatest player that the club has ever had."

A prolific striker, Di Natale is the record holder for Udinese in Serie A appearances, with 362 outings for Zebrette, and he is also the all-time top scorer for the club with 189 domestic goals.

Di Natale has twice announced that he would be retiring before, saying he would be hanging up his boots at the end of the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, but reversed his decision both times.

The former Italy international has yet to publicly reveal whether he will call time on his career once he leaves Udinese or move to a new club.
